YIBA Writes To Modi On Problems Of Bank Staff

An open letter to the PM Sh Narendra Modi from YIBA
Sh.Narendra Modi
The Prime Minister of India
New Delhi
Dear Sir,
At first YIBA congratulates Mr Narendra Modi to be successful in recent Lok Sabha Election. This election was unique itself because whole country votes not to a party but a thought, an initiative , a power in the name of Narendra Modi for DEVELOPMENT & only DEVELOPMENT.
The banking sector is backbone of the country & it is well known during recession when the economy of US, Europe & other countries were struggling with the economy, our country was far from that crisis.Whole world was surprised from the ROBUST nature of Indian Banking Sector . The Banking sector spreads a sense of belief all over so that country stands firmly during that crises. Now Many other tasks, beyond banking, are performed by the banks & this sector need some reforms.. We don't go in detail but we want to point out some points here under

1. Work pressure : The banking sector survives with work pressure. We don’t say that we are not fond of Work but it is fact that this sector experiences shortage of employees & has not tendency to attract youngsters. The attrition rate is prevalent . Current work culture of banks doesn’t match to that of youngsters. Bankers always ready to give services to customers …… still in untoward situation. The suicide cases in different banks itself prove the work pressure present in banks.

2. Poor salary structure : The 10th Bipartite settlement is due . We are getting less salary structure as compared to others PSUs . We are devoting 10-12 hrs daily. Our personal, Family, Social growth are affected due to such type of work culture. Instead of we are giving our best for this sector.

3. Transfer policy : The transfer policy of banking sector doesn’t suits to the employees. The employees are posted at 1000-2000 km far from their home station & are exploited at work station.During transfer the demographic level & Dielect condition should be considered. The present transfer policy is hurdle of our performance & hence the performance of The Banks.

4.      5 day banking & Regulated working hour : Always Bankers perform duty at Sundays & holidays . We get less holidays in a calander year. Despite all we continuously performing day to day but we remain cut from our family & society .

5. Privatisation of PSBs : YIBA condemn the proposed backdoor privatisation of PSBs as SBI did with Reliance. YIBA strongly condemn the recommendation of NAYAK COMMITTEE on PRIVATISATION of PSBs.
There are many problems present in Banking Sector as the government may term the increasing NPAs in Banks but this is the time to introspect how & why loans, those become NPA afterward, are sanctioned . The Vijay Malya case is the best example. Whose influence the customers become WILLFUL DEFAULTER. We are not sole responsible for such NPAs. The Staff Accountability should be reformed. Always smaller employees are made scapegoat in such type of cases. The resignations of CMD of a reputed Bank is the latest example.

We all bankers are always scolded by everyone. We don’t have any GOD FATHER. We 10 lac employees demand social, family & financial security from the New Government.

  6. A letter written to PM of India, is lacking in the way of presentation.Like why to compare with PSU salaries when we are still getting lesser than govt employees, Indian economy not affecting even during European crisis only states high of UPA govt.,etc.Rather we could have taken issues of political interferences, bad policies of previous govt and that of Chidu who looted the financial sector for his own benefit. This time bankers had also given a call to defeat UPA & specifically Chidu's son.

  7. we youngsters r desperate to join banking sectors as we know the present scenerio of banks that r lacking employees... bt recently the india's largest lender SBI came up with very less vacancies and due to this the competetion is too much tough..so banking assosiation must also wright about this ,as we are young we r capable to work anywhere in any situation bt only if we also pay enough for this
