Bank Staff Should Demand

We bankers should put stress on following points now when Finance Minister Mr. Chidambram says that entire income of banks cannot be spent on wage hike.

• Recovery of salaries and allowances paid to Prime Minister Sri Manmohan Singh who has failed to stop price rise despite frequent promises made by him, for his failure to achieve the budged revenue collection targets, for his failure to ensure corruption free administration and good governance, for his failure to contain fiscal deficit and current account deficit, for his failure to achieve disinvestment targets set by the government, for his failure to fulfill the promises made by him and his party to voters before election and so on…………He should be made accountable, responsible and punishable for all losses incurred by public sector undertakings.

• Recovery of salaries and allowances from Finance Minister should be demanded because he has failed to ensure profitability of banks and his failure to stop increasing trend of bad assets in banks. He should be forced to refund all salaried and allowances because of his failure to keep health of financial institutions, banks and insurance companies in good condition.

• Finance Minister should be asked to explain why hundreds of bank’s branches have been allowed to open in his Constituency Shivganga and he should be punished for imposing unwarranted loan on banks and for making bank unviable in such locations. He should be punished because it is his idea of opening branches even in remotest areas in the name of financial inclusion and due to such reckless expansion of bank’s branches has resulted in huge loss and caused huge rise in bad assets in these areas.

• Bankers should demand recovery of salaries and allowances form Aviation minister due to whose faulty policy and faulty administration Airlines has incurred huge loss in preceding years. Aviation minister should explain why Indian Airlines incurs loss even after charging higher fare from passengers than fares of private airlines for same distances. Why government does not reduce salaries of officers of Air India when they incur loss and why does the government infuse capital to keep Indian Airlines alive.

• Bankers should demand recovery of salaries and allowances of Telecom Minister because it is due to their faulty and corruption oriented execution of polices that BSNL incurs loss and private telecom providers book huge profits.

• Minister of environment should be asked to refund all salaries and allowances because he failed to clear projects worth lacs of crores of rupees which caused economic downturn and which resulted in lesser GDP growth and lesser IIP growth rate.
•  
• Law Minster of the country and states should be asked to refund their salaries because it is they failed to help banks in recovery of bank’s loan from willful defaulters’ .Deputy Commissioners and District Collectors who collude with bank loan defaulters and do not help banks in taking possession of property of defaulters of banks. Officers of DIT should refund the salaries because they failed to recover bank loan within six months timeframe set by government.
• Salaries and allowances of power minister should be reduced because he failed to provide electricity to all corners of the country despite promises made by him

• Railway minister should be asked to refund all salaries and allowances paid to him because it is due to their negligence that lacs of passengers suffer without ticket and huge numbers of reserved tickets are sold in black causing loss to railways and forcing government to extend financial support to railways for its existence and expansion.

• After all Members of Parliament and all Members of state Assemblies are paid servants and hence they have to be penalized when they fail to exercise their duties perfectly, honestly, sincerely and for the benefit of common men who voted them to enter into Parliament and State Assemblies.

• Performance result of elected representatives is announced by voters in the next election when these MPs and MLAs seek second election from the same constituencies. If voters reject them in election, it becomes crystal clear that they have not performed as per expectation of voters. Hence they should be forced to refund all salaries and allowances paid during five years they remained as MP or MLA

• Normally politicians who cause much loss to bank and PSUs plead that they are public representative elected by voters and hence they have right to interfere in the affairs of all banks and all government offices. If they are empowered to monitor and they should be held responsible and accountable for their failure to safeguard banks, public sector undertakings and government departments.
•  
• Last but not the least, none of leaders should be allowed to contest election from a place other than he is resident of. Normally corrupt MLA and MP switch their constituencies when they assess that voters are angry over their non performance and over their corruption.
•  
• Bankers should come forward with names of all companies and firms owned by ministers directly or indirectly and which have been financed by banks and which has now become bad from the angle of RBI norms.
•  
• All high value loan proposals involving hundreds of crores passed in favour of corporate are passed by Management Committee of banks which is constituted of representatives of banks, RBI and Ministry of Finance. When these loans go bad, each representatives of such Management Committee should be asked to refund their salary and sent to jail for defrauding banks and for causing huge loss to public money.

• Political leaders who promise to waive bank loans should be hanged or asked to repay bank’s dues from their own sources because it is their ill-motivated vote bank politics which prompted borrowers not to repay bank’s loans and which added huge bad loans in the balance sheet of every public sector banks.
•  
• Leaders of Congress Party should be taken to task who advocate and put pressure on bank management to organize loan camps or loan melas to disburse loans to farmers, traders and corporate recommended by politicians of ruling party.

• Salaried of all CMD and ED ( they are employees of government )of all banks should be recovered or reduced whose bad management has caused loss to bank or caused erosion in profits of the banks or caused erosion of capital or caused rise in bad assets.
•  
• Bank Union leaders from each district should come forward with the name of all defaulters who are directly or indirectly associated with political leaders and expose their name who caused rise in bad assets and who cause loss to bank as a whole.Bank officers should expose the name of ministers who interfere in the internal affairs of banks and cause loss to bank.
•  
• Salaries and allowances of Officials , Governors and Deputy governors of RBI should be reduced because they have failed to stop inflation, failed to contain price rise, failed to stop circulation of fake notes, failed to keep bank’s asset safe and healthy, failed to audit and inspect properly banks and FIs in time to stop rise in bad debts.

• There are more than five lac crores of rupees worth bad loans in public sector banks which has been restructure under the pressure of Ministers and which have caused huge loss to banks. Ministers and CMDs of Banks who permitted restructure of bad loans under pressure of some minister or the other should be booked to task and should be forced to reimburse the loss caused by them to banks.

• Ministers in particular and Government in General which cause huge loss in Coal scam, 2G scam, CWG scam and hundreds of other scam should not be paid salaries and asked to refund all salaries and allowances received from Government.
•  

Bank officers and all employees should come out in demonstration Today with bold banners and hoarding displaying all evil works of politicians, especially Ministers and Finance Minister.

They should expose the CMDs, EDs and GMs of their banks who are indulged in flattery to Minister for their own promotions and for their own self interest and who are willfully sacrificing the interest of bank staff.

It is the duty of all young officers to come along with senior union leaders on road and participate actively in all demonstrations to prove that they can achieve their goal in way politicians like.

Bank staff may form a group of local bankers to canvas against leaders like Chidmabram in the constituencies they contest election so that they may be removed from political arena for good and ever.
