THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT WITH FINE OF RS.10,000/- TO
BANK MANAGER IN A CASE OF BRIBERY

The Special Judge for CBI cases, Bhopal has convicted Shri S. C. Nanda, the then Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Hoshangabad (M.P.) U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 & U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.10,000/- in a bribery case.
This case was registered on 05-10-2007 U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 on the allegations that Shri S. C. Nanda, Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Hoshangabad had demanded illegal gratification of Rs. 10,000/- from the Complainant for accepting his loan proposal under Prime Minister Rojgar Yojna (PMRY) Scheme and its subsequent sanction. The accused was caught red handed, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from the said complainant.
After completion of investigation, a charge sheet U/s 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 against Shri S. C. Nanda, the then Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Hoshangabad Branch, Hoshangabad (M.P.) was filed on 24.06.2008 in the court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal.
The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
