Is Wages Of Bank Staff Justified?

Written BY :S Rupesh Shivaram---Facebook

As far as pay structure matter, it is very necessary to understand the nature of duty of the employee, required qualification for the post, productivity of the post, required knowledge level updation and financial risk involved in the job.

For illustration let's take the job of a reservation clerk in railway and that of a Bank officer. A booking clerk requires only 3 input throughout his/her entire service. 1) Train no 2) Date of Journey 3) Passenger details. With regard to qualification any 5 th standard kid can do this job. Regarding productivity, if railway put a computer terminal and allow passengers to book ticket themselves, there is no need for booking clerk itself. With respect to knowledge, even when the trains run on road tomorrow, the booking clerk needs to punch three data only! As the amount involved in each transaction is very less, financial risk involved is almost NIL.

Now Bank officer/clerk:

From passing SB cheque to issuing LCs and Guarantee to complex and risky Forex transactions, a bankers work requires enormous data input.
Bankers job is not child's play, it is not playing a computer game like a Railway booking clerk!

With regard to knowledge updation of a banker, Bank introduces new products frequently and the existing procedures may undergo frequent change. So a Banker has to constantly upgrade his/her knowledge levels to function. This aspect is NIL in the case of a booking clerk. All the transactions done by a Banker carries hefty amount and hence the risk is 10000 times that of a booking clerk.

In the name of getting some cheap votes, if the govt is giving a salary of 33000 to a booking clerk and 16000 to a Bank clerk and just 30000 to a bank officer, what we have to call this? If I say bastard , it will be of very less a word, so I am leaving to the discretion of the reader.

Bankers think twice and thrice , propagate this message and be ready for a blood shed revolution. Even in Iraq or Libya such injustice will happen? But why in a democratic country like ours? Because government and the unions know we Bankers can be taken for granted. If we have to spill our blood on road to fight against such injustice we have to be ready for that.
If our govt can't increase our salary, let them reduce the salary of its employees by 50pc and improve the financials of the sinking government.

JUSTICE FOR ALL!

  1. You very right sir,
Even after 5 days no Union or Association has updated their website for 19th Dec'13 strike call.

As per my view nobody has to join other then INDEFINITE STRIKE, b'coz 1 or 2 days strike is not fruitful now and past also.
