IBA has proposed introduction of Health Insurance Scheme in lieu of the existing Hospitalisation scheme.
As per our Bipartite Settlement, hospitalisation expenses are reimbursed upto 100% for employees and 75% for eligible family members as per the prescribed schedule of charges. NOBW demanded CGHS Scheme or Health Insurance Scheme for working and retired employees in its Charter of Demands. UFBU demanded like CGHS Scheme and 100% actual expenses reimbursement in Hospitalisation Scheme in Common Charter. IBA proposed introduction of Health Insurance Scheme in lieu of the existing Hospitalisation scheme.
Highlights of proposed scheme is as under:
1. 100% reimbursement or cashless settlement of hospital bills for self and dependent family members with the following ceiling:
Officers : Rs. 4,00,000 per year
Clerks : Rs. 3,00,000 per year
Sub-staff : Rs. 2,00,000 per year
2. Corporate Buffer of Rs. 100 crores
3. For critical illness Rs. 1 Lac will be paid in addition to reimbursement under the scheme.
4. No ceiling for Surgeon Fees, X-Ray, Tests, ECG, etc
5. Bed Charges upto Rs. 5,000/- per day.
6. Pre-hospitalisation upto 30 days and Post hospitalisation upto 60 days will be covered.
7. Maternity Expenses upto Rs. 35,000/- for normal delivery and Rs. 50,000/- for caesarean cases.
8. Domiciliary treatments as per existing Bipartite Settlement.

Dear All,
ReplyDeleteI think we should accept new medi-claim policy proposed by IBA with slight modifications. 1> limit should be increased to min 5lac. 2> Parents/ parents in-lows should be included. 3> Domiciliary treatments should be upto max limit.
Now, why should we accept this against existing policy?
A> Cashless facility in almost all good hospitals ( practically not available in existing system)
B> Transparency (we can submit online claim, can track it, follow it up etc). In in-house system only few employees gets advantage but in this policy every one will be treated at per, unions don't want that.
C> Eligible amount will be substantially increased. In existing system we hardy get 50% of actual expenses.
D> In case of real exigency we can claim beyond our limit.
And now friends, I have few questions. What is the disadvantage of not being it in-hose? Are our banks so liberal to pass our claims without proper documents? Or flexible enough to pass more than eligible amount? friends, why we outsourced ATM services to third party ? Defiantly we will get better service with this new scheme, is it not? Please put your comments..
